Relocation: Assisting Corporate Transferees

This online course provides a foundation of employee relocation knowledge by giving students a brief historical overview and illustrating how relocation transactions differ from other types of moves. It defines relocation and explains the roles of various professionals involved, including corporate or government HR personnel, relocation management company counselors and staff, appraisers, home inspectors, and real estate salespersons or brokers.  It then carries the student through a relocation transaction, covering the assignment, or re-assignment, of an employee through the selling of the employee’s home.  As some of the steps in this process require specific explanation, the course uses individualized lessons to illustrate key points. The latter half of this course addresses common real estate concerns such as disclosure, agency and tax law, as well as fair housing and non-discrimination. It serves as an excellent and comprehensive introduction to relocation, or as a refresher course for those who periodically handle relocation accounts.
